You may have a situation where you are hiring multiple people for a single position/title. When that's the case, you'll have more than one position for that title in your syncHR account. If that position is available in a single city/state location, it probably makes the most sense to have only a single active job posting open for that position in your Recruit account. Which means you end up with a ratio of multiple positions in syncHR to a single job posting in syncHR Recruit. How do you manage that process when hiring and onboarding new employees?


Multiple Positions in syncHR : Single Job Posting in syncHR Recruit


Let's use a job for a Retail Associate as an example to illustrate this process. Assume that you want to have a single Retail Associate job posting active in your Recruit account, but you need to hire 2 Retail Associates.


Creating the Position in syncHR


1. Create a Retail Associate position in syncHR.

2. This will create a new offline job posting in your syncHR Recruit account. 

3. Make edits to the Retail Associate posting and fill in the job description

4. Then publish it online


This job posting will be connected to the original Retail Associate position you created in syncHR Recruit. Updates made to the job title in your Recruit account will update the position title in syncHR. When you hire an applicant, the applicant will appear in syncHR to be onboarded for that original position.


Hiring an Applicant / Onboarding


1. Find the applicant you want to hire in the Retail Associate job posting in syncHR Recruit.

2. Open up the application viewer and click on the "Mark as Hired" button.

3. This will send the applicant's information into your syncHR account.

4. Go to your Task Center in syncHR, find the new employee as an ATS Onboarding task and click on the  to begin the onboarding process.


Hiring a 2nd Employee for the Same Job Title


When you are ready to hire your second employee for the same position/job title...

1. Create another position in syncHR. 

2. This will create a second offline job posting in your Recruit account. Since you already have a job posting with the same job title active in your Recruit account, you can keep the second offline job posting offline in your Recruit account.

3. Find the applicant you want to hire in the active Retail Associate job posting in syncHR Recruit.

4. Move the applicant from the active Retail Associate job posting to the offline Retail Associate job posting.

5. Find the applicant in the offline Retail Associate job posting, open up the application viewer, and click on the "Mark as Hired" button.

6. This will send the applicant's information into your syncHR account.

7. Go to your Task Center in syncHR, find the new employee as an ATS Onboarding task and click on the  to begin the onboarding process.


Hiring Additional Employees for the Same Job Title


To hire additional employees for the same job title, simply repeat the steps above for "Hiring a 2nd Employee for the Same Job Title." When you're done hiring for that job title, take the job posting offline in your Recruit account. You can publish it online again at any time when you're ready to recruit for additional people.
